Towards Balancing User Satisfaction and Operator Revenue in Beyond 3G Cognitive Networks

چکیده
An economic driven JRRM algorithm is introduced in a multicell scenario based on guaranteeing a certain user acceptance probability of a given service while at the same time increasing the network provider revenue. It includes both service price and user utility and allows an operator to envisage the price impact on the final revenue attained. The paper focuses on two profiles, namely consumer and business and reflects that the proposed algorithm is able to adapt to the needs of each profile. A realistic UMTS, GERAN and WLAN scenario is considered.

Adaptive radio resource with borrowing for multi-operators 3G+ wireless networks with heterogeneous traffic
Recently, sharing the radio access network (RAN) has become an important issue for 3G and beyond mobile wireless operators. In addition to user and service considerations, there are economic and technical advantages to 3G and beyond shared networks. This is driving optimizations in the deployment and development of national 3G and 4G rollouts. However, shared 3G and 4G networks exhibit many of ...

The paper focuses on third generation wireless technologies and on alternative technologies for wireless local area networks. The authors present the evolutionary migration path from second to third generation systems. Technological, economic and behavioral factors related to decision-making towards the migration are proposed. As an example, the paper studies the case of the national incumbent ...

Standardization of 3 Generation (3G) mobile communication systems has produced the first specification releases and the commercial deployment of the 3G systems has started. Whereas 1G and 2G focused on efficiently providing voice services, in 3G a lot of attention has been devoted to solutions that support both Circuit Switched (CS) and Packet Switched (PS) communication. That has called for ve...
